The Cruise Hotel is the 254-room hotel on board De Rotterdam: the hotel most at home in the city of Rotterdam.
Sleeping on board means broadening your own horizons, enlarging your outlook and feeling a cosmopolitan in Rotterdam. In short, a world-class sleeping experience!
All the ship’s original 576 “cabins” have been transformed into 254 modern hotel rooms, decorated in the design trend of the fifties. The rooms are classified in six different types depending on the layout and their location on the ship. Our rooms are on the Lower Promenade Deck, the Main Deck, the B Deck and the A Deck. In addition, there are a number of exceptional and luxury suites on the Boat Deck and Sun Deck. The rooms all vary in form, design and colour.

You can catch up on your sleep in our Inside Cabins without windows, centrally located in the ship, at any time of the day. They are designed as spacious double rooms (a number of rooms are designed for three guests). They have alternative daylight and are fitted with Philips wake-up lights.
These rooms are on the outer ring of the ship and have a view of the Nieuwe Maas, the city or the Port of Rotterdam through the original portholes. Inspired to carry on working, or perhaps drift off into sleep ...
These are spacious rooms fitted with all modern conveniences. All the Suite Cabins overlook Rotterdam or the Nieuwe Maas and have a separate sitting–sleeping area. Fall asleep with a view of the Rotterdam skyline through your porthole … You are guaranteed a good night’s rest!
The rooms are spaciously designed and have a large walk-in cupboard. A number of these rooms are on the Boat Deck and the Sun Deck – situated high on the ship’s bow. These luxury rooms were originally designed for the officers and the ship’s captain. Enjoy the panoramic view of the port and the bright lights of the Rotterdam skyline by night, right outside your luxury hotel room.
The former cabins with the numbers “196” and “198” on the Lower Promenade Deck are where members of the Royal Family slept during the maiden voyage of the ss Rotterdam: the first voyage from Rotterdam to New York. Would you like to sleep in a royal setting ...?
The rooms have a fully-fitted pantry and are therefore suitable for a longer stay on board: your safe haven in Rotterdam!

The “Original” rooms tell the tale of the construction of the ship in the Port of Rotterdam, the launch by Queen Juliana and the maiden voyage in 1959. The colours, designs and materials of this period have been applied as authentically as possible in the design of the rooms. You imagine yourself as a guest on board the ship, once again as it was when it was launched in 1958 ...
The “Manhattan” rooms radiate the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the fifties and sixties: the 10 years when the ship made the weekly crossing between Rotterdam and Manhattan. A comfortable place to stay, on course for a new adventure, in one of the world’s great ports. Our “Manhattan” rooms are now a warm home base for a stay in the bustling city of Rotterdam.
The ship spent the greatest part of her life sailing the seas as a luxury cruise ship and called at many exotic destinations: enjoy the luxuries on board on the way to the next port of call. With our “Bahamas” rooms we offer you the opportunity of once again experiencing De Rotterdam’s many tropical cruises.
