Visiting the entire steamship
If you want to see the entire great ocean steamer and relive the glorious cruising years of this impressive legend, then we recommend booking the Rotterdam Complete Tour. Go from the upper deck deeply into the ship’s belly. Look across the monumental bow, see the heavy anchor winches, mount the sky-high bridge, enter the chart room, the radio room and visit the original captain’s cabin.
The tour will also take you along the authentic halls provided they are not being used during your visit. Next is the old indoor swimming pool, the engine room with the mighty steam turbines and through narrow stairs on to the boiler room. Have a look at the manoeuvring board covered with handles and buttons. Visit the area where the firemen and cabin boys used to sleep. This tour too will take you to the Experience Centre, where in only a few minutes you will ‘travel’ from Rotterdam to New York.
Most of this tour is outside lasting about 90 minutes. Alternatively you can book the special children’s audio tour.
- Open daily from 10 to 17.00
- € 16 pp for adults and € 9.50 pp for children aged 4-11 (with audio set)

The Rotterdam Complete Tour is not suitable for wheelchair users and poor walkers. Indeed the ship’s upper decks and the bridge can be reached by elevator, however the engine room can only be reached through steep stairs and narrow corridors. Also, buggies cannot be carried into the engine room.
